When will we be able to deposit Sweet Balance or purchase gift cards
Deposits are a highly requested platform enhancement and we're continuing to work with our payment partners to enable deposits. Sweet gift cards are also under consideration as we expand the ways collectors can transact on the marketplace!
What's happening to the 8000+ of each fandom that are not in circulation? We are over halfway done this NHL season and this was supposed to be done in September or October of last year.
No plans have changed regarding removing Series 1 highlights from circulation permanently. They have already been moved to a holding wallet which was the next step in permanent removal. The final step is the official designation of "Removed From Circulation" in the Collectible Stats of each highlight.
Will there be any highlights of Phoenix Coyotes players? My favourite was Nikolai Khabibulin, Jeremy Roenick, Keith Tkachuk, Robert Reichel and Yanic Perreault.
Yes! We have a set planned that will include at least one of these players either coming later in Series 2, or at the start of Series 3.
Are Breakaway Beauties still coming? If they are, do we have a timeline of launching them? Could we see a sneak peek?
We are looking forward to revealing more about Breakaway Beauties later this season!
Some highlights are being held back or released in much smaller numbers than others in the same set. What’s the reasoning behind this? Is this going to continue the rest of series 2?
The only reason for that uneven distribution of highlights occurs is if they are reserved for Quest Reward Packs, or Breakaway Bags. Given the feedback after Series 1, we have made a more concerted effort to release the entire supply of sets for Quests and Set Completions.
What's the marketing strategy here? The goal posts seem to move a lot.
We've listened to your feedback and are rolling out a more structured announcement schedule. Whenever new packs or Quests drop, you'll get pack announcements on Thursdays, with releases following on Tuesdays. Quests will be announced on Tuesdays, giving you three days to prepare before they go live on Fridays—perfect for weekend play. Plus, keep an eye out for our new broadcast commercial, additional NHL sweepstakes messaging, and fun ways to amplify NHL Breakaway with your followers and during games!
Are there any plans to introduce badges for special serials numbers (#1, perfect serials and jersey match serials).
3 new badges were added to the NHL Breakaway collection, marking the introduction of edition-specific badges:
- Jersey Match Edition - This badge is reserved for the edition of each highlight that matches the player's jersey number in the highlight.
- #1 Edition - This badge is reserved for the #1 edition of each highlight.
- Perfect Edition - This badge is reserved for the final edition number in the series of each highlight (e.g., #100 if there are 100 editions). For crafted highlights, the Perfect Edition Badge will be applied to the final edition that could be crafted based on the edition size of the original highlights.
What can you tell us about heroic highlight utility? Specifically, I would like to hear about heroic crafting, heroic quests, and utility for last year's completion cup highlights.
Heroic crafting is here with the launch of Signature Quest VI, and we'll have more announcements around additional utility for Heroic highlights later this season!
Team Quests
New for this season, we’ve introduced Team Quests, which give you opportunities each week to earn rewards using highlights in your collection from teams across the league.
Each Team Quest completed opens a Breakaway Reward Bag; we’ve already seen NHL game tickets, $100 NHL Shop gift cards, and several Rare highlights pulled!

Global Gamechangers Set Completion Reward
Borje Salming’s goal versus the Philadelphia Flyers during the 1976 Stanley Cup Playoffs will be the Set Completion reward for the Global Gamechangers set! A stalwart for the Toronto Maple Leafs for 17 of his 18 NHL seasons, Salming was a trailblazer for European players, establishing himself as a star in the league. In 1996, he became the first European-born and trained player inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, cementing his enduring legacy. The editions for this exclusive highlight will be awarded based on each collector’s completion place for the set.
