Jan 2026 Update: A New Year, Big Wins & Even Bigger Community Moments 🎉

The New Year is officially here, and what a way to close out 2025! December gave us unforgettable moments on the ice and some truly special highlights within the Breakaway community. From epic giveaways to feature updates and everything in between, let’s rewind the tape and recap what went down last month.

The Season of Giving, Breakaway Style

December was all about giving back—and our community showed up in a big way.

To celebrate the holidays, we increased the monthly gift limit to 99, giving collectors even more opportunities to spread the love. On top of that, we rolled out our 12 Days of Breakaway, and the results were nothing short of incredible:

From Breakaway to Miami: Winter Classic® Edition

We flew one very lucky collector, drrockso, and his guest to Miami with tickets to watch the Florida Panthers host the New York Rangers in the NHL Winter Classic®.

Outdoor hockey in Florida? Still hard to believe – but by all accounts, it was an unforgettable experience. Sunshine, palm trees, and NHL action made this giveaway one for the books.

A Special Piece of Hockey History

Another collector, Db_t_6438, scored an incredible prize: a game-used puck from the Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Minnesota Wild game on October 11, 2025 – the night Zeev Buium scored his first NHL goal.

December Feature Highlights

We also saw some exciting updates and welcomed back a fan favorite:

  1. Increased trade sizes, allowing collectors to include up to 10 collectibles
  2. Increased gift limit to 99 per month
  3. The return of Collector Coach!
  4. Quest sorting now defaults to Lowest Rarity → Highest Rarity for a smoother experience
  5. Added giveaway bot to Discord channel to make raffles and giveaways more fun!

These improvements were all about making collecting, trading, and questing easier and more intuitive and came directly from community feedback. 

In the Works: What’s Coming Next

We’re not slowing down as we head into January:

  • Account balances are actively in development, with a target release the week of January 19th
  • As we continue building out the fantasy game, we’ll soon be reaching out to our Discord test crew who signed up to provide feedback
